Recently Hunan's first regular low-altitude air route for logistics application was launched in Changsha County. An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) made its successful maiden flight during the launch. The UAV holds a load capacity of 4.5 kg, a cruising speed of 60 km per hour, and a maximum delivery radius of 7 km. This year, five to ten such UAV logistics air routes are projected to be launched, with the number of UAVs in operation exceeding 10,000.

In September 2020, Hunan became China's first pilot province for all-area, low-altitude airspace management reform.
