In Ningxiang, Changsha, a man hailing from Jilin’s black‑soil plains in northeast China operates a self‑circulating farm built on a closed‑loop cycle. Everything nourishes everything else: manure from 4,000 free‑range hens falls directly into the fish pond below. The nutrient‑rich pond water is then pumped uphill to irrigate fruit trees, whose leaves in turn feed the chickens. No pesticides, no chemical fertilizers — nature maintains the balance. Spanning over 200 acres, the farm grows 7,100 fruit trees of more than 30 varieties, bearing ripe fruit month after month, while yielding over 2,000 nutrient‑dense eggs each day.
